I’m Kim Diamond, founder of PhoneSpuds, and I created this quirky, potato-shaped pillow phone stand out of necessity during one of the toughest chapters of my life.
A few years ago, I was hit with a double whammy: long COVID and a head injury that left
me battling chronic pain, numbness, and fatigue every single day. Suddenly, the simple act of holding my phone—whether to watch a video, FaceTime my family, or just scroll through the news—became a struggle. My hands would ache, my wrists would throb, and sometimes my fingers would go numb. I knew I couldn’t be the only one.
That’s when the idea for PhoneSpuds was born. I wanted something soft, comforting, and—most importantly—functional. I needed a way to use my phone hands-free, especially during long days in bed or on the couch. But I didn’t want another boring gadget cluttering up my space. I wanted something that would make me smile.
From Struggle to Solution
PhoneSpuds is more than just a phone stand. It’s a plush pillow with a clear vinyl pocket that fits most phones (up to 6.75" x 4.25") and allows you to use your touchscreen without ever picking up your device. We designed PhoneSpuds for anyone who needs a little extra support—people with arthritis, carpal tunnel, or mobility challenges, but also busy moms, college students, and anyone who just wants to relax without juggling their phone.
